Ft. Snelling, Minnesota

Fort Snelling, Minnesota, is a historically vital and complex site at the confluence of the Mississippi & Minnesota Rivers (Dakota's Bdote), representing American expansion, military power (from Civil War training to WWII Japanese codebreakers), and tragic injustice, especially for the Dakota people, culminating in the forced removal after the 1862 US-Dakota War and the landmark Dred Scott case, now managed by MNHS to tell multiple narratives beyond just military history.
